PLAYING TEACHER'S PET AND PLAYING APRIL'S FOOL
I just got back from seeing Miroslav at their record release party. We spent a ridiculous amount of time walking around trying to find the venue, but by the time we got there it didn't cost and we didn't miss Miroslav. I talked to Andrea and Bill, both design majors in my year, and Andrea (the lead singer's girlfriend) informed me that Nate, my favorite band member, had a new girlfriend. (And maybe I'm making this up, but I thought she looked like Kathleen Hannah. Bah. And Nate said something about liking Le Tigre. Double BAH! Also, apparently Nate has a kid and goes to Mass with him on Sunday mornings . . . ? I thought he just graduated. Well, schoolgirl fantasy no more, I suppose.) Okay, okay. The album, though is still seriously good. I guess I can start thinking of them as "boys I knew back when." And I'm sure that's best.

I auditioned for Baby With the Bathwater today, which was scary. I kept on wanting to run away, even after I was in the green room with plenty of people I know. I guess it went okay, but I don't have a meter for judging how well auditions go. Callbacks are on Monday, and we'll see what happens then. Don't worry, I'll keep you posted.

JUST SAYING IT COULD EVEN MAKE IT HAPPEN
Now we're all going into overdrive, which means 1)excessive caffeine consumption 2)increased giddiness and silly jokes 3)lots of carbohydrates like pizza and Chinese food 4)either an impending sense of doom, or maybe just a good time. I'm definitely having a good time, but I feel as if I'm starting to break down and just flat out lose it. It's probably the coffee, I'm sure, but there's a general air of business and briskness right now, although it gets gummed up with all this snow on the ground. Or, more appropriately, it makes some of us fall down a lot more. (Well, Megan and I. But I think the potential is there for a lot of others to fall down, honestly.) Even though some things are stressful, there's a lot of momentum to push us through the week and I'm glad.
