KOOL, KOOL THING
So. No more Governor's School. No more teenaged art students. No more secretive smoking. No more cafeteria cheeseburgers. No more late fucking nights. No more waking up at seven. Yes, I miss it, of course. I'm halfway back in my own life, but still very different in the head. That is to say that I spent the whole day reading, drinking coffee at the 61c, and watching movies, communing with all of the people walking around in my neighborhood, and I still feel like I'm on guard for something. A green PGSA wristband, maybe? I only forgot to cut off my ATTRA wrist band yesterday morning, for goodness' sake. Don't mistake me, I feel good. Much better than I usually feel at the end of summer. Why am I suspicious? Because I feel a self-analysis fest looms here, I think I'll cut to the next subject:

It's been so great to see my Pittsburgh friends again. It's great to be home and hang out with Alicia, watching movies and drinking coffee late into the night, or playing Scrabble with Carolyn and getting totally trounced, and talking about Milton. I went to Eat 'n Park with Adam and Zach last night, which was so comforting and sweet. I'm sending Adam all of the positive RA love I have right now, in fact, because he has a very similar job to mine that goes for a whole week longer, and I know it takes a lot of strength to stay on the ball, which one must do all the time. GO ADAM!

Andrew has a new apartment in Friendship and it's amazing. Damask wallpaper, dark cherry trim, stained glass bay window with a window seat, etc. On the way we scoped out the furniture left out by the dumpster at the Bloomfield Goodwill: Andrew scored a dresser and I found two Lorrie Moore books! Afterwards we watched Sonic Youth videos. It was good.

Today I discovered that Cartier makes cigarettes! Yes, Cartier as in the diamonds. Of course I bought some-- I think my obsession with relatively inexpensive luxury items (like San Pellegrino: bottled at the source!) continues to gather steam. Don't fret, though, I also bought my first ever can of AquaNet today, and with it the hopes that I won't backslide into absolute silliness.

AquaNet is the stuff of miracles, by the way. As Alicia said yesterday, "Why do you think mob wives always have big hair? Because it's fucking hot!" Yeah.
