SO ON & SO FORTH & SHOOBIE DOOBIE DOOBIE
I feel like I'm wearing a wig. Today I had my bizarre peroxide blonde dyed back to the natural color (which, apparently, is a gold-flecked chestnut brown). It's nice to have something that matches my eyebrows and eye color and everything. Honestly, I know a lot of people are going to say, "Oh, but you looked really good as a blonde," but people, you didn't have to see these roots. Bevlieve me, I did everything in my power to protect you. But it's awful to have hair that only looks good when you mess around with it every day.
And in any case, it feels good to be the "real" me, even if that realness is achieved only through chemicals, for the moment at least. Authenticity is already a shady concept, one that should live within quotation marks at all times, but this move feels significant to me for some reason. Also, I feel beautiful. And that's really great.
