so i thought it was really clever when i told dave that i had a blog and that i was going to make him guess the title . . . maybe i gave away too much when i said the title came from a frank black song (specifically from "teenager of the year" at that). i think he guessed it within three tries. i feel so inferior.
in another note, i went to see the student-written one acts tonight. it seemed like all of the authors had a very specific statement that they wanted to share with the audience. accordingly, three of the four were extremely metaphysical in nature. i don't know why the following fact isn't more widely publicized: pseudo-psychological banter has never made good, character-revealing dialogue. i think it's enough to describe a scene and characters and leave it at that. but, then, maybe i haven't thought hard enough about the possibilities of such erudite lines as "if your car's parked, you can't tell it's not there. it isn't moving." oh, i see now.
the best part of the one-acts was how hot ram looked in makeup. (that's really hot, for those of you who weren't in attendance.) afterwards i went to skibo and ran into elina and pete (at separate times). we discussed co-ops, mandatory house-buying ordinances for the homeless (don't worry; that one's a joke) and trombones, respectively. once again i didn't get anything done, but talking to people seems more and more like getting stuff done.
