TODAY HAS BEEN A DAY OF UPHEAVAL
ram and i were going to go to manchester today, but i felt bad that i hadn't successfully given blood yet, so i asked that we give blood first. once we go there, though, i started to chicken out and i was suggesting we leave. i stuck it out, though. the nurses told me that my veins are too small. i guess i appreciate their honesty because the last time i tried to give blood i stopped bleeding before i had finished up the bag and they tried to roll the needle around to get me bleeding some more, which just left me with a big bruise. i felt like my body was wimping out on me again. they gave me some oragnge juice and a cookie even though i didn't really do anything; for a while i was feeling really calm.
also, i was supposed to go to the manchester craftsman's guild this afternoon to hear the recording session for slide hampton's world of trombone. every great trombonist was there and i was dying to see it, but i had the adamsons on friday and a jazz minor concert on saturday. on sundays it turns out there are no buses to manchester.
after a little wallowing i went to scobell to drop off an jug of cranberry juice the blood bank people gave us. aaron showed us some of the disgusting neo-nazi computer games that were on the web, and then we climbed up on the roof of hammerschlag to llisten to the steel drum band practicing below. it turned into a nice day.
